Eddie Hoskins was born on May 13, 1956 in Harlan and departed this life on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. being 68 years of age. He is the son of the late Lonnie and Juanita (Fleenor) Hoskins.

He is survived by his loving wife Diane. His son, Logan and his wife Brandi. As well as his granddaughter, Hadley Hoskins. Eddie is also survived by one sister, Charlotte Thomas of Harlan.

In addition to his parents Eddie was proceeded in death by one brother, Lavis Hoskins and three sisters, Judy Hoskins, Debra Hoskins and Ann Hoskins.

Eddie was a beloved member of his community. To know him was to love him! The Harlan County native came to Annville in the late 1960s and attended and graduated from Annville Institute. From there, a precious family, Desmond and Dorothy Peters, took Eddie into their home. Desmond was a heavy equipment operator, and he taught Eddie how to do it too. They were a huge influence on his life. Later, Eddie mastered those skills and became one of the best backhoe operators you'd find anywhere! But that wasn't all he did. Eddie took on any project large or small. From installing septic systems to building houses, there was literally nothing he couldn't do. He was a constant encourager, making everyone around him feel better and be better! Eddie was always a part of the solution and would drop what he was doing and run to those that needed him, regardless of their ability to pay. There are people all over Jackson County he has done work for and never billed them a dime. He also took in people in desperate situations, giving them work and a roof over their head, full well knowing he would probably end up losing in the end. It would be hard to find someone with a bigger heart!

Annville Town & Country was his favorite hangout, where he would often link up with people that needed him. He also did all the maintenance at the store and improved it so much over the years. His wife, Diane, along with his son Logan, his wife Brandi, and his granddaughter Hadley were his pride and joy, and he beamed and bragged about them daily. Hadley had him wrapped around her little finger and he simply adored her! Oh, and we can't forget, he was a scratch golfer too! Eddie loved to play golf, and playing with him was a treat! If you hit the worst shot of your life, he would find something good about it and make sure you didn't give up. He could beat you badly on the course, but still have you smiling heading home. Eddie Hoskins left everything better than he found it, plain and simple, and they simply don't make them like him anymore. On a spiritual note, Eddie met Jesus Christ in a powerful way right before he left this world, and we look forward to seeing him again in Heaven!

Funeral Services for Eddie Hoskins were held at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee, on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1P.M. with Bro. Brian Thomas and Brian Murray conducting the service. Burial followed at the Eddie Hoskins Family Cemetery in Annville.
