The Jackson County Middle School Lady Generals basketball team is on a roll, and has kept their winning streak alive with some impressive victories.
Last week, the Lady Generals hosted their first home game against Pineville on Thursday night at Jackson County High School. Due to ongoing renovations at Jackson County Middle School, the high school has become the temporary home court for the Lady Generals. The 6th grade team didn’t disappoint, delivering an outstanding performance and securing a decisive victory over Pineville. The excitement didn’t end there, as the combined 7th/8th grade team followed up with a thrilling game that ended in a win for Jackson County.
The momentum carried into Friday night when the Lady Generals welcomed the Harlan Green Dragons. Once again, the 6th grade team showcased their dominance with a commanding victory. The 7th/8th grade Lady Generals continued their winning streak, wrapping up the night, securing the ‘W’ over the Green Dragons.
The 6th grade Lady Generals were back in action over the weekend, competing in the Lady Rocket Invitational. They remained undefeated, clinching the tournament championship with wins over Rockcastle, Southwestern, and Dauntless. Their relentless drive and teamwork have been key to their success, propelling them to success.
After a brief rest on Sunday, the Lady Generals hit the road again, facing Knox County on Monday night. The 6th grade team added another victory to their unblemished record, pushing their season start to an incredible 15-0. Unfortunately, both the 7th and 8th grade teams battled a very strong and impressive Knox County program and fell short.
Despite the setbacks, the 7th grade team has only suffered two losses this season, and both the 6th grade and 7th/8th grade Lady Generals remain undefeated in the All A Conference, a testament to their hard work and dedication.
The Lady Generals will continue their busy schedule this week. They’ll host Lynn Camp at home on Tuesday night at 6:00 PM before traveling to Middlesboro on Thursday night to face the Lady Jackets at 6:00 PM. The game against Corbin, originally scheduled for Friday night, has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Lady Generals as they aim to extend their remarkable season. Go Lady Generals!
