Lucille Bennett Obituary

August 31, 2024

Lucille Bennett, lovingly known as Lucy, 85, of Lynn, Indiana, passed away on August 22nd, after an extended stay at the Springs in Richmond.
Lucy was born on November 19th, 1938 to Arnold and Eva (Witt) Brockman in Jackson County, Kentucky. Lucy graduated from McKee High School. She married the love of her life, best friend, and protector, Wallace Arron Bennett, (Wally) on March 11th, 1960. Lucy worked at Anchor Hocking in Winchester, Indiana for over 30 years.
Lucy was a cherished aunt, sister, and friend. She was a member of Chapelwood Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and loved doing the crafts for VBS.
Lucy enjoyed time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and was best known for her famous chocolate pies! Her nieces remember fondly our times cooking at their home in Kentucky, (our flipping pancakes to see who we would marry), sleep overs, and scary stories, told as only Lucy could and our protection from parents, as she believed that all her nieces and nephews could do no wrong. She will be greatly missed by many.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers; Carl and Clarence Brockman, sisters; Joyce Alleene Johnson & Darlene Killion, brothers-in-law; Joe Johnson and James Bailey
She is survived by two sisters; Dollie Mae (Cleston) Dennis and Lorene Bailey, sisters-in-law; Geneva and Willa Mae Brockman, Brother-in-law; Lloyd Killion, along with several nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 11-1 on Friday, August 30th with the funeral at 1pm at the Lynn Friends Church 311 S Main, Lynn, Indiana. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester, IN.
