Doris Jean Baldwin Obituary

Doris Jean Baldwin was born August 3, 1941 to Elbert and Leona Bowles and was called Home October 6, 2024 being 83 years of age.

She was preceded in death by husbands William Jesse Brockman and Edward Lee Baldwin, her parents, two siblings Lonnie Bowles and Ralph Bowles and by two precious sons, Billy Joe Brockman and Darrow Lee Baldwin. She leaves behind to mourn her passing one son, Timothy Regan Baldwin and four daughters, Ruth (Jim) Prewitt, Linda (David) Spence, Pamela Mills and Tina (Lee) Storey; a daughter in law who she loved like her own, Patricia “Trish” (Billy) Brockman; numerous siblings and grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

 Doris enjoyed simple pleasures. She loved warm weather, working in her flowers, sitting on her back porch swing and watching deer and other critters. She loved hot fudge cake, fried fish and strawberry pies from McDonalds and her mean old cat, Tom, who loved her back. She enjoyed traveling to old and new places and she loved God.

Her greatest earthly joy was her family. She was the center and foundation of it all. She laid the groundwork and provided the building blocks to strengthen our character and teach us to be good human beings-to love, to laugh, to be kind, to be honest and to be strong in the midst of sorrow by relying on faith in Christ. The gifts received and lessons learned will remain unbroken until we see her again. Proverbs 31:26- “She opens her mouth with wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue”. She will be so missed.

 Funeral services for Ms. Doris will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 with Brother Shane Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Medlock Cemetery in Annville. Visitation will begin on Thursday October 10, at 11 A.M. at the Lakes Funeral Home. Pallbearers include; Dave Spence, Lee Storey, Eric Brockman, Tim Baldwin, Matt Baldwin, Stevie Baldwin. Honorary Pallbearers: Cody Mills, Austin Mills, Regan Baldwin, Gabriel James.
