Jennie Brent Weddle Obituary

Funeral service for Jennie Brent Weddle, 77, was  6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at LeCompte Johnson Taylor in Frankfort, KY. Rev. Rick White officiated. Burial followed at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Science Hill Cemetery, Science Hill, KY 42553. Jennie was born in Lexington, Ky to the late Edward Vertress Weddle and Juanita Virginia Osborne Weddle. She passed away on October 19, 2024, at Nortons Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. Jennie was a member of the First Baptist Church at the Singing Bridge.

As a young woman Jennie worked in the Laundry Room at Kings Daughters Hospital, worked in the Green House at Frankfort Habilitation Center, and at Kentucky State University in their Cafeteria and in the Rosenwald School. In later years she did volunteer work with the Humane Society Animal Shelter. She got the most pleasure out of life spending time with her cats.

Jennie is survived by her sister, Terrie Weddle Curd of Frankfort, formerly of Sand Gap, Ky; half-sister, Jan (James) Rose Coffey of Somerset, Ky; and half-brother, Ed (Brenda) Weddle of Georgetown, Ky. She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Vertress Weddle; mother, Juanita McDaniel; and stepfather, Boyd G. McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers were Fred Wingate, Eddie Wagoner, James Harry Wilson, Jack Ruffner, Rodney Coffey, and James Coffey.
