JCHS Generals Basketball Coach's Preview

 The Jackson County Generals are looking forward to a spectacular season. 
The 2024-25 49th District Pre- Season ratings are as follows: 1) Clay County, 2) North Laurel 
3) OBI, 4) Jackson County, and 5) Red Bird. The 49th looks to be very competitive this season. The Generals are looking forward to the challenge!! 
The Generals have a good mixture of experience and youth returning for the 24-25 season. 
Spectacular Seniors : 
Keagan Ward 6'7 forward / ability to play inside or outside / been working hard on speed and agility Keagan is looking forward to helping lead this team to one of the most successful seasons in school history. We're expecting a DD out of Keagan every night. 
Tydus Summers : 6'2 Guard / ability to knock down shots and distribute the ball well. If Tydus can dish out 10 assists per night to go along with his scoring the Generals will be a tough out for anyone. 
Peyton Singleton : 6'1 power forward / He is coming into his senior season in the best shape of his life. We are expecting big things from this multi-threat offensive player who may be one of the biggest surprises in the region this season !! 
Braxton Clemons : 6'0 Guard Very Talented young man / can shoot with range or get to the rim off the dribble/ could be a difference maker ! 
Jolly Juniors : 
Kendell Peters 5'7 Guard Kendell has worked extremely hard to improve ball handling and shooting skills. Kendell has a great attitude and could be a contributor in this seasons success. 
Quentin McQueen : 6'1 forward Quentin is a multi skilled player / works extremely hard could be a difference maker for the Generals ! 
Ashton Clemons : 5'7 Point Guard - Injured presently / He will be working hard with PT to recover from a football injury. 
Super Sophomores : 
Brayden Vickers : 6'3 power forward / very talented / one of the best shooters on the team / by Mid season could be starting or seeing several V minutes per game / physical - good rebounder 
Elijah Rose : 5'6 guard One of the hardest working kids in the program / steadily Improving 
Fabulous Freshman : 
Corey Cunagin : 6'6 FD-GD Corey sees the floor well / good passing skills / can play inside or out / can take people off the drive If Corey stays healthy and becomes more physical he could contend for 13th region Freshman of the year !! 
Braxton Coyle : 5'8 Guard / has worked extremely hard in the off season to improve his ball handling and outside shooting / good on ball defender / Braxton has the potential to make a difference in this year's team ! 
Jake Jones : 6'0 fd / very athletic / with individual improvement and strength gain will be a plus for the Generals 
Wyatt Dunn : 6'0 fd / very heady player / shoots ball well / good potential 
Tanseen Truett : 5'8 gd/ can you say heart / works extremely hard / good on ball defender / is working to improve ball handling and shooting skills / Tanseen could be a key factor to the success of the Generals 
Wyatt Gray : 6'1 FD / outstanding shooter with range / good rebounder / working hard on speed and agility / Could be on the watchlist for a great season ! 
8th 
Tyler Sandlin : 6'4 Gd Multi skilled player / with improvement in strength and experience could be a contributor before seasons end. 
Coaching Staff : 
Chase Gilbert : JCHS Alumni - Current State Trooper - brings a ton of enthusiasm each day and good hand with post players. 
Dylan Kane Lunsford : NLHS/ Cumberland College Alumni/ finishing teaching cert. : Brings energy and knowledge of individual guard development. 
Brad Sandlin : JCHS Alumni / Current JCHS Teacher / Brings a knowledge of overall program development. Does a great job communicating with players current and future. Great stat / tech person. 
Candice York : JCHS and LMU alumni / Current educator in JC school system / Great defensive Coach / super student of the game with a heart to see each individual player improve and succeed !! 
We are privileged to have this fine group of players and Coaches representing JCHS this season as they try to conquer a 49th district Title / an All A Region Title - State All A Title / and 13th Region Title. The Generals need the fans to come out and route this team on to victory each night. This will be a very entertaining and exciting team to watch as they give it their all each night. 
The Generals will scrimmage Leslie County on 11/19/24 at Leslie and PCC at South Laurel on 11-29-24 in the GJ Smith Classic. 
The Generals will open regular season play on 12-2-24 at Lee County at 6:00 PM and follow up that week on Dec 6th and 7th at Home in the Annual PRTC CLASSIC. 
Dec 6th Owsley County / Dec 7th Morgan County.
