JCMS Boys Basketball Update
Another week of basketball has come and gone. Last week the 6th and 8th grades faced off against Lynn Camp on Monday, November 18th, and both teams came away with a good win. On Tuesday the 19th went to Oneida Baptist Institute with the 6th and 8th grade teams, and both teams came away with a win as well. Thursday we were scheduled to play Pineville, but because of the weather we had to cancel, and are rescheduled to play them on December 2nd. Friday the 22nd the weather cleared up for us to go to Owsley County with all three teams. The 6th grade lost the game by almost double digits, the 7th won by a slim margin, and the 8th grade won by a wide margin. Overall this week, we have seen some improvements both in the team, and we have seen a lot of individual player improvements as well. We have also seen some room for improvements with our 6th grade team, primarily on defense, and some offensive aspects. We have seen some great strides in individual performance with some of our 6th graders, overall the main thing is, learning to play together. You have a team that hasn't really played together before, they all played for different elementary schools. They're still learning to play together, and learning each other. I believe by the end of the season they will be overall, an improved team. Once again, we are proud of each team, and the work they put in both on and off the court, they work hard in practice to improve. And a big thanks to all the coaches who put in a lot of hours to work with this great group of boys.
A healthy Jackson County requires great community news.
