Meet the Generals and Lady Generals - Sophomore Edition
This year on the basketball docket, three sophomores are coming in hot for another year of high school ball. Let's meet these underclassmen -
Of the three sophomores that will be on the court this year, only one comes from the Lady's team - Baylee Berry, the 5 '4 point guard who devotes her time not only to basketball but also to softball.
"Hi, I'm Baylee Berry, I'm a sophomore, and I'm sixteen years old. I started playing in elementary school because my friends started playing - my favorite part of the sport would be the environment."
When Baylee was asked what she looks forward to seeing grow and excel in herself on the court this season, she eagerly replied, "My mindset and to just become a better player overall."
The Generals team also has two promising players in their sophomore sector. One of those is Elijah Rose; coming into only his second consecutive season, he is already making waves. During an interview with the fifteen-year-old guard, he was asked to introduce himself to the readers of the Sun. This is what he had to say -
"Hi, I'm Elijah Rose. I'm fifteen, and I've been playing for one year - Stephen Curry got me into playing."
Brayden Vickers has been a prominent player on the court during his years with the Generals and is the last of the sophomore group. The 6 '3, center has a lot to offer and will be one to watch this season.
"Hi, I'm Brayden Vickers, I'm seventeen - I've been playing basketball since third grade. What got me into basketball was my family and I enjoy playing basketball."
When Brayden was asked how his gameplay has changed coming into the season, he responded - "My game has changed a lot since freshman year because my shooting has gotten a lot better - day in and day out, putting the work in and doing what I can."
The Generals and Lady Generals will be in action for the PRTC Classic on their home court on Friday, December 6th as well as Saturday, December 7th. You won't want to miss this season's opening event.
