Trail Life USA, Where Boys Become Men
Young boys are lost. They have become human sacrifices in a society that ostracizes the appearance of masculinity. The side affects of societal beratement are manifest: a youthful male populace without motivation, uniquity, and purpose caused by their deprivation of adventure, guidance, and encouragement.
I am elated to announce a wholesome solution to the problem. Trail Life USA (TLUSA) Kentucky Troop 29:11 will officially launch in October. TLUSA exists to foster male mentorship through the great outdoors. It is similar to other youth programs like the scouts in regards to advancement and skill, but different because of its focus on character and leadership development through outdoor adventure. The organization began as a Christian alternative in 2013, and it is an unapologetically Christian approach to the crisis facing male youth.
Aspiring trailmen can expect hard work; advancement and skillset will be earned, not given. Our troop will partake in hiking, camping, shooting sports, rock climbing, and more. Trailmen will learn the importance of family, of fatherhood, and our nations flag. We will sharpen axes and split firewood, compete, lead others, and serve the community in service projects. "Walk worthy" is our motto.
Join us for open house and sign ups at Gray Hawk Baptist Church, 153 Kelly Road, McKee KY 40447 on Thursday September 21[st] at 6:30pm. The troop is open to all young men grades K-12. One does not have to be affiliated with a church to attend. Additionally, fathers are encouraged to attend and consider signing up as a registered adult. Open house will feature a chance to experience a mock camp site, participate in a competition, witness an official troop flag ceremony. Parents will have an opportunity to meet the troop leaders, ask questions, and receive information on how we have trained to protect young men while encouraging adventure. Hear about our ambitions for the program year. Do no let the fear of cost detour you from the opportunity, we will speak about the finances as well.
Hope to see you on the Trail!
