JCMS 6th Grade 13[th] Region All "A" Conference Runners Up
JCMS 6th Grade is the 13th Region All "A" Runners-Up
Another week of basketball has gone by for the Generals, and we had some good games, and some tough games. Overall I see an improvement in all the teams, so we are glad for that. Monday night December 2nd the 6th and 8th grade Generals faced off against Pineville, the 6th grade got off to a slow start in the first half while Pineville took off, and in the second half we played a little better, but they unfortunately lost the game. The 8th grade was a hard fought game all the way through, and the Generals managed to emerge triumphant against Pinevile at the end.
Tuesday the 3rd all three teams traveled to Madison Middle to face their teams. The 6th grade pulled through for a narrow win, the 7th grade managed to get a narrow win as well, and the 8th grade won by a good margin.
Thursday December 5th all three teams went to North Laurel. The 6th grade played some of the best basketball we've seen all year, and fought hard but North was able to get the victory in the end. The 7th grade unfortunately lost as well. The 8th grade boys put on a good game, and kept it close, and led most of the game up until the last few minutes, and North was able to push past for a narrow victory.
Friday the 6th, the 7th and 8th grade went to Lee county to face the Bobcats again. The 7th grade game was a close contest the whole way through, but Lee County got the points they needed late in the game to secure the win against us. The 8th grade boys started off slow, but was able to get a good win against Lee County.
Saturday December 7th, our 6th grade boys went to Williamsburg for their conference tournament, they were a 3 seed and had to win 3 games to win it. The first game they beat Lynn Camp, the second game they beat Barbourville, and in the final game they unfortunately lost to Pineville. They were runner up in the tournament, so all in all not bad at all. We're proud of them, and all our teams, as they continue to work hard both on and off the court! Come out and support the Generals when you can as we still have a few more games left before the season comes to a close.
