William Luther Muncy Obituary

William Luther Muncy was born May 10, 1940 in Jackson County and departed this life Friday, December 27, 2024 at his residence in McKee, at the age of 84. He was the son of the late Homer & Nannie (Bowling) Muncy.
Luther was united in marriage to Diane Gentry on April 16, 1977. Luther is survived by his loving wife, Diane Muncy and by his children, Barbara Ann Muncy of Manchester, Edward Lee (Cynthia) Muncy of Manchester, Lynnwood (Brandy) Muncy of East Bernstadt, Calvert Ray (Dovie) Muncy of Annville, Vicky (Robert) Turbyfill of Manchester, Howard (Kelly) Muncy of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Angela Potter of McKee.  He is also survived by three siblings, Louise Murray of Louisville, Homer “Bug” Muncy Jr. of Annville and Hershel Muncy of Taylorsville.  He was blessed with a host of grandchildren.
   In addition to his parents, Luther was also preceded in death by two sons, William Kenneth & Bradley Gene and by a brother, J.B. Muncy. As well as three grandchildren, BJ Muncy, Taylor Muncy and Rebecca Turbyfill.
   Luther was a 32-degree Mason, a member of the Clay Lodge #798. He was also a member of Oleika Shriners in Lexington, KY, Scottish Rites and Clay County Historical Society. He was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church.
Masonic service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home immediately following Luther’s funeral will be held with Jimmy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Annville & Medlock Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jr. Sparks, Kaden Muncy and Chris Turbyfill, Brad Turbyfill, Justin Turbyfill and Donnie Muncy. Honorary Pallbearers include Willard Combs, Rick Collett, Ronnie Gay, LG Rose, Bobby Muncy, Russell Flannery, James Muncy and Randall Garrison.  Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
