Jackson County Junior Varsity Basketball Team Continues to Show Promise
The young Generals, featuring a diverse roster of players spanning multiple grade levels, continue to build chemistry and gain valuable experience on the court.
The team is led by juniors Quinten McQueen, Kendall Peters, and Braylon Combs, whose leadership and skill have driven the team's success. Sophomore Brayden Vickers adds depth and versatility to the lineup, while freshmen Jacob Jones, Wyatt Dunn, and Jakob Angel bring energy and a glimpse of the program's bright future. Eighth-graders Tyler Sandlin, Bentley Gray, Avery Nichols, and Kendrick Dezarn have also contributed significantly, proving that age is no barrier to making an impact on this team.
During the Christmas break, the Generals secured hard-fought victories against Lee County and Morgan County, demonstrating their growing confidence and ability to execute under pressure. However, the team's recent contests against Breathitt County, Oneida Baptist Institute (OBI), and Pineville did not result in wins. Despite the outcomes, the young Generals continue to improve with each game, showing resilience and a commitment to development.
"Every game is a learning experience for these young men," said Coach Bradley Sandlin]. "Our focus is on growth and teamwork, and I'm proud of the effort they bring to the court every time they play."
