Elementary 24[th] Region Governor's Cup

The Elementary Regional Governor's Cup was held over the weekend. The competition from these amazing young students was exemplary. Only 1.5 points separated the Overall Winner from the Overall 3[rd] place finisher! 

The McKee Elementary Academic Team earned Overall 1st Place in the Region 24 Governor's Cup Tournament! Principal Timmie Truett reported, "We are so proud of our Academic Bulldogs achievements throughout the competition. A huge shoutout to our amazing coaches, Mrs. Lindsey Wilson & Mrs. Whitney Harris, for their hard work and dedication to the team. Congratulations to Tyner Elementary and Sand Gap Elementary for bringing home many medals and trophies as well. Jackson County is full of intelligent and successful students." 

While the Tyner Elementary Academic team earned an Overall 3[rd] place finish, the Cardinals were Back-to-Back Quick Recall Champions! Individually, Harper Bowling earned 2[nd] place in Math while Carlie Hays earned a 3[rd] place finish. In Language Arts, Owen Major earned 3[rd] place. In Science, Jokr Jackson earned a 3[rd] place finish while Aubrie Hays finished in 5[th] place. In Social Studies, Cooper Baldwin earned a 5[th] place finish. 

The Sand Gap Elementary Academic team also performed well. Cotton Tillery placed 2[nd] in Language Arts and 4[th] in Science. Mrs. Sondra Jones coaches the Sand Gap team. 

The McKee Bulldogs team was the Overall 1st Place Winners and Runner-up Winners in Quick Recall. Individually, Cadee Brooke C earned 1[st] place in Composition, with Preslea H. earning 3[rd] place honors. In Language Arts, Junie G. earned 4[th] place, while Titus T. earned 5[th] place. In Social Studies, Jonah S. earned 2[nd] place. In Science, Andy S. earned 2[nd] place. In Math, Titus T. earned 5[th] place.
