Coach Tillery: 2025 Lady Generals Fast Pitch Softball Preview
The Jackson County High School Lady Generals softball team is getting ready for another season.
Last year was the most successful season in the history of JCHS fast pitch softball.
The team recorded the most wins (24) and most home runs (21). They also won the 13[th] Region All "A" tournament for the first time and finished in the Elite Eight in the All "A" state tournament. For the first time since 2002, they made the semi-finals of the 13[th] Region tournament. This year's team plans on building upon that success.
They are led by seniors Blakelynn Fee and Candice Williams. This will be their fifth year as varsity starters.
Fee is an excellent leadoff hitter that sets the tone for the rest of the offense.
Williams has amassed 931 career strikeouts and looks to surpass 1,000 early in the season. She also recently signed with Berea College to play softball at the collegiate level.
The team is also returning several starters from last year's team that are now sophomores: Bailey Berry, Lexi Brockman, Aubrey Estridge, Kylie Moore and Ella Sallee. Berry set the record for most hits in a season (53) and Moore set the record for most RBI's (44). Amber Smith and Macy Wathen are returning varsity players that are ready to make a significant impact. Scarlett Peel and Sadie Seals are joining this year's team and plan on having a positive influence on team success.
The Lady Generals officially open the season at home on March 17[th] at 6:00 PM against Knox Central. It will be a home game and all fans are invited to come out and support this year's team.
