Judge Executive Shane Gabbard Issues **BURN BAN**

Jackson County Judge Executive Shane Gabbard, pursuant to KRS 149.401 has issued a burn ban until further notice in Jackson County. Due to low humidity, wind, and dry vegetation, all outdoor burning is prohibited until conditions change. 

A burn ban prohibits all open burning during periods of extraordinary forest fire hazard or fire occurrence and applies to the burning of leaves, debris, campfires, bonfires, grass, woodlands and forest. The executive order may be enforced by local law enforcement and violations may be referred to the County Attorney or Commonwealth Attorney for prosecution.
