Tennessee Man Lights a Joint in Court to Advocate for Marijuana Legalization

A Tennessee man, Spencer Alan Boston, 20, was in court for drug possession charges when he lit a marijuana joint in front of the judge to argue for its legalization. This act led to additional charges of disorderly conduct and simple drug possession.
According to news reports, the courtroom reacted with laughter.
Wilson County Sheriff Robert Bryan informed the Tennessean that the marijuana emitted a strong odor. He stated that Boston attempted to speak to those in the courtroom, but officers detained him.
Boston is currently being held on a $3,000 bond.
