An 11-year-old girl was taken to a children’s hospital last week after police say the mother of another student attacked her outside of an elementary school.

William Spencer, the 11-year-old’s father, said his daughter has been bullied by a 7-year-old boy in an ongoing incident that started over video chat last month.

Spencer said he contacted the school principal about the bullying, and he also asked for a meeting with the other child’s parents.

Instead, Spencer said things got worse, and profanity-laced text messages were sent to his daughter.

“It’s terrible, the bullying is terrible and when you reach out to try and be civil, it fails,” he said.

On April 1, the mother of the 7-year-old boy reportedly attacked Spencer’s daughter right outside of Clairton Elementary School.

Clairton police charged 40-year-old Jasmine Snow with assault and harassment.

School surveillance cameras caught the attack, which police said show Snow hitting the 11-year-old girl in the face before pushing her to the ground and dragging her.

Police said a witness broke things up, and then Snow got into her car and left.

Spencer said his daughter suffered a concussion and blurred vision in her left eye.

“I’m praying that she gets full eyesight back,” he said.

Spencer said he has pulled his daughter out of the Clairton School District.

A school spokesperson said in a statement:
“Clairton City School District is unable to comment on an ongoing police investigation at this time. However, we are fully cooperating with the authorities. We are deeply saddened by any instance of violence in our community. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority.”
