Sheriff Isaacs Discusses Mailbox Vandalism Case

Last week the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received several complaints of citizens' mailboxes having been damaged. Sheriff Isaacs reported, "This started off as a few reports of damages, and then we continuously received more and more reports of damages sustained to mailboxes. Myself, alongside Deputy Sheriff Logan Hacker conducted county-wide patrols in collecting information on the specific addresses for those citizens that sustained damages to their property, and attempting to determine possible suspects. Throughout our investigative efforts we aggressively tried to learn the suspects identities, and made a diligent effort to locate them.
Throughout the investigation, we were able to positively identify those responsible for this act, and Deputy Hacker was able to provide sufficient evidence to pursue charges on those individuals responsible. I would also like to add that throughout the course of this investigation, there were over 54 mailboxes damaged, and Deputy Hacker's diligent effort in gathering ALL addresses for those properties was a large undertaking, and I commend him for his excellent investigative work and in seeing the case through. These individuals have been lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree. I, alongside my Deputies and Office Staff, appreciate our communities engagement in our activities and in assisting us when requested. Thank you."
Complaint Warrants #E05510004980371 & E05510004980400 filed with the Jackson County Circuit Court Clerk on May 08[th] & 9[th], 2025, identify the two individuals involved as James Miller, 21, of Tyner, KY, and Braxton Maguire Wilson, 20, of Tyner, KY.
