May 23, 2025

Madisonville Police Department officials say they arrested a man Wednesday evening on public intoxication charges.
According to a police report, an officer says a man, later identified as Michael Graham, walking northbound on North Franklin Street.
Police say they saw him practicing martial arts in a very slow manner as he walked.
They say Graham began hitting and kicking a utility pole, stumbled and laid on the ground.
When police approached Graham, he quickly got up off the ground and told them he was practicing his martial arts skills he read in a book to help fend off dog attacks.
Police say it was apparent he was under the influence of an intoxicating substance and was arrested and booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
He is being charged with public intoxication.
Graham was released early Thursday morning and has a court date scheduled for June 2.
