Kentucky State Police Investigate Escaped Inmate in Madison County

Jarod R. Barnes, 28 years of age, from Elizabethtown, Ky

RICHMOND, Ky. (June 22, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, is searching for an inmate who walked away from the Bluegrass Career and Development Center just before 6:45 pm today, June 22nd in Madison County.

Jarod R. Barnes, 28 years of age, from Elizabethtown, Ky., is described as a black male, 5’9" tall, weighing 206 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Mr. Barnes was last seen wearing a white tank top, black sweatpants, and white tennis shoes. He also has several tattoos on his chest and arms.

Mr. Barnes was serving a sentence for Possession of Engaging in Organized Crime-Criminal Syndicate, PFO Enhancement (2nd Degree) and Trafficking Cont Substance -1st Degree- 1st Offense Methamphetamine (2 OR > Grams), PFO Enhancement (2nd Degree).

Anyone who may have information about the location of Jarod Ryan Barnes is asked to call their local law enforcement or KSP Post 7 at 859.623.2404. Barnes is known to frequent Elizabethtown, Jefferson, Hardin and surrounding counties.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Bobby Estes.
