Tennessee Teen Beats Man with Toilet Plunger, Stripped Him Naked, then Kidnapped his Child

A man in Tennessee is facing multiple charges after police said he beat another man, stripped him naked, covered him in bleach, and then kidnapped that man’s child.

Charles Coffman, 19, was charged with aggravated kidnapping, attempted second-degree murder, tampering with evidence and theft.

A police report obtained by WVLT says that a detective was conducting a wellness check at a home around 4 a.m. Sunday when he found the victim.

Police said the man was found in the bathroom, naked, and with serious head injuries.

The report noted that a 3-year-old child and the man’s vehicle were both gone.

Sevierville officers later found the car with both Coffman and the child inside.

Coffman reportedly told police that he had been asked by the child’s mother to pick up the child.

Coffman told police that once he got there, he got into a fight with the victim.

The police report said Coffman slammed the victim into the ground, hit him in the face multiple times with his fists, beat him with a toilet plunger and stuffed the plunger into the victim’s mouth.

The police report said Coffman also admitted to officers that he dragged the victim into the bathroom, stripped him naked and poured bleach on his wounds.

The child’s mother denied telling Coffman to pick her child up and said she had never spoken to him. She told officers that she’d never allow Coffman to take custody of the child.

The victim was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. His current condition is unknown.
