Luther McKinney Obituary

Luther McKinney age 85 of Irvine passed away Saturday June 14, 2025 at his residence. He was born on October 6, 1939 in Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Bill M and Allie Rea (Isaacs) McKinney.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary (Smith) and their children, Billy Ray (Cindy) McKinney of Tyner, Bobby Joe McKinney (Crystaly Moran) of Corbin, Karen Sue (Ted) Williams of London and Kathy Ann (Bill) Fox of Irvine. His grandchildren, Stephanie (Steve) Dubious Stephen (Ashley) Fox, Robert Combs, Johnathan (Chelsea) Fox, Dreama (Ike) Boyd, Christopher McKinney, Ashley (Isaac) Bowling, Angela McKinney, Desteney McKinney, Miachael McKinney, Lucas McKinney, Bobby McKinney Jr and Olivia McKinney. Luther was also blessed with 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Luther was preceded in death by his siblings, Lloyd, Mayhew, Bradley, Roy, Achel, Alfred, Alex, Elmor, John Robert, Myrtle and Anna B. As well as one great grandson, Dalton Titus Boyd.

Funeral Services for Luther will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 5.P.M with Bro. Jimmy Lakes presiding. Burial will follow in the Russell Flat Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Stephen Fox, Johnathan Fox, Christopher McKinney, Lucas McKinney, Michael McKinney, Ike Boyd, Isaac Bowling and Steve Dubious. Honorary Pallbearers, Billy McKinney, Bobby McKinney, Ted Williams, Bill Fox, Robert Combs, Jake Combs, Tommy Williams and Elijah Boyd.

A visitation will begin at 3 P.M. on Saturday at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee.
