Johnnie Wesley Carpenter Obituary

Johnnie Wesley Carpenter was born September 27, 1929, in Jackson County and departed this life Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Annville at the age of 95. He was the son of the late Milt & Lillie (McDaniel) Carpenter.

Johnnie is survived by his wife, Devela (Parker) Carpenter; four children, Doug (Kathy) Carpenter. Darlene (Gary) McQueen of East Bernstadt, Shirrie Carpenter of McKee and Lawrence (Amy) Carpenter of Annville. He was blessed with the following grandchildren, Megan Carpenter, Jasmine Flannery, Molly Hisel, Tylan Carpenter & Trenton Carpenter; by his great grandchildren, Cooper Flannery, Miles Carpenter and Mason Hisel.

In addition to his parents, Johnnie was also preceded in death by his grandson, Marvin Doug Carpenter, Jr.; and by all of his siblings, James David Carpenter, Andrew Carpenter, Saul Carpenter, Eliza Harrison, Betty Vaughn, Jeannette Gibbons, Maudie Clark, Ruhama Shelton and Elizabeth Wilson. Also, by a special nephew Russell Ford.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, June 30, 2025, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Thomas and Bro. Jack Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Parker & Baker Cemetery. Pallbearers: T.R. Blanton, Roy Ford, Stanley Ford, Trenton Carpenter, Johnnie W. Carpenter, Kris Cunagin. Honorary pallbearers: Alfred Hensley
