Darlene Haas Obituary
Darlene Haas of Tyner, KY was born in Dearborn County, Indiana on January 22, 1947, and departed this life in Florence, KY on November 9, 2023.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Bill Haas of 35 years. She is also survived by her daughters, Kim Hopper, Colleen (James Bruce) Wright, Karen (Ed) Treadway and her son, Tony Haas. Mamaw’s grandchildren were Zachary Hopper, Bethany Hopper, Danielle Cameron, Jacob (Maloree) Wright, Cody (Tasha) Gill, Jeremy Haas, Andrew Haas, Bentley Haas and Christian Haas. Mamaw is also survived by four great grandchildren.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Susan McKinley, her grandparents, Cassie & Harry McKinley, her brother, Ronnie Cunningham and by a son-in-law, Mike Hopper.
Darlene was a machinist at Campbell Hausfeld for 15 years. After that she was a cook at an assisted living and nursing home facility for many years. Mamaw enjoyed listening to Toby Keith, sitting around a campfire, fishing, watching Gunsmoke, taking care of her pets, going to church, eating Twinkies and mostly spending time with family and friends. She really enjoyed the time she spent with Papaw at Deer View and Gray Hawk Landing eating and talking with friends. She especially loved the kisses she got from Sophie and laughing because Papaw didn’t get any.
Darlene was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Tyner, KY. She will greatly missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Farmer officiating. Burial to follow in the Bales Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
