Christmas on the Square in McKee this Thursday!
Come out for an evening of fun and support the Lady Generals Softball in the 1st Annual Chili Cookoff. This Thursday, November 30th, Christmas on the Square will kick off the Christmas season. The Christmas festivities will start at 5:30 Thursday evening. The Christmas Parade will begin at 6:00 PM. Judge Gabbard reported, "We should have representation from each School with Cheerleaders, Dance teams etc. There will be a tree lighting ceremony, a chili cookoff, and princesses here taking pictures as well." Once again, the R.H. Johnston Lodge will be giving away bicycles to some very lucky young people with a random drawing. The Jackson County Public Library will also be on hand encouraging everyone to read and have tons of fun!
Do you think you make great Chili? Come out and support the JCHS Softball team in making this chili cookoff a success. Bring your pot of Chili to the tents by 5 PM. Judging will begin immediately after, and winners will be announced after the parade. There will be two categories for the chili cookoff competition: Traditional and Non-Traditional.
If one wanted to participate pre-registration was required by November 28[th] for the team to ensure enough electricity was available. There was no registration fee to participate simply a request to donate the Pot (Chili only) to the Softball Team. The team will have other crockpots available should one need to leave. Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Water and other treats will also be available.
Let the Merry Christmas season commence!!
