Malvie Gilbert Obituary

Malvie Gilbert was born July 13, 1943, to the late Robert and Vina (Wright) Bingham and passed away January 16, 2024, peacefully at home. She was married to the late Nathaniel Gilbert who preceded her in death March 31, 1989. She is survived by four children, six grandchildren and six great grandchildern, two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Carl Jerome Gilbert, Burgoyne Gilbert, NoraEtta Ross of McKee and Melissa (Monty) Hill of Tyner. Tiesy (Chris) Bowles, Haylie Ross of McKee, Josh Stewart and Andrea Stewart of Sand Gap, Logan (Brittney) Hill of Prestonsburg and Myles (Aleshia) Hill of Paint Lick. Jayden and Shaylen Hobbs, Katie Bowles, and Elijah Blanton of McKee, Carson Stewart of East Bernstadt, Kamara Stewart of Dry Ridge and Wyatt Stewart of Sand Gap, Mason and Jenson Hill of Prestonsburg and Irah Hill of Paint Lick. She is also survived by her brother and two sisters, Carmen Bingham and Ila Mae Bingham of McKee and Brenda (Neal) Tillery of Nicholasville. And by her second family whom she loved dearly, Barnell Gabbard, Rhonda (Keith) Taylor, Melony (Kelvin) Bingham, Trey (Jessica)Vickers and Tyler Vickers.

She was preceded in death by a great grandchild Mathew Scott Ross and by the following brothers and sisters: Ruth York, Reba Hurst, Riley Bingham, Johnny D Bingham, Narcis Parrett, Wendell Bingham, Marion Faye Harrison, Coleman Bingham and by her twin sister Mallie Humes.

Malvie was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church.

She will be missed by her family; we know our loss is Truly Heavens Gain.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home’s Bradshaw Chapel with Bro. Bobby Burchette officiating. Burial will follow in the Bingham Cemetery. Pallbearers: Burgoyne Gilbert, Josh Stewart, Carson Stewart, Jayden Hobbs, Elijah Blanton, Jonathan Hobbs, Jason Lainhart and George Tillery. Honorary pallbearers: Chris Bowles.
