Samuel Lee McQueen Obituary

Samuel Lee McQueen, better known as Sam was born July 11, 1985, in Lexington and departed this life Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville at the age of 38. He was the son of Howard Gene & Theresa (Metcalf) McQueen of Tyner.

In addition to his parents, Sam is also survived by fiancé Faith Morgan; his children, Eli and Chloe; and his step son, Aiden Gray. Other survivors include three brothers, Daniel McQueen of Louisville, Cody McQueen of Leslie County, and Justin McQueen of Jackson County; and by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard & Curtie McQueen and Mae & Virgil Gumm; by a special cousin he loved like a sister, Shena Montgomery; by his aunt, Veronica “Muff” McQueen and by two uncles, James Metcalf and Ed Metcalf.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker McQueen Cemetery.
