Jackson County Board of Education Selects New Superintendent

Mrs. Renee Smith has been selected as the new Superintendent of Jackson County Public Schools

The Jackson County Board of Education has selected a new Superintendent to lead the public schools in the county! At a BOE meeting last night (June 18, 2024) the board members voted approval for Mrs. Renee Smith to occupy the position. Mrs. Smith was serving as Instructional Supervisor at Clay County Board of Education. The board voted earlier this year to not extend the contract of Mr. Mike Smith, the current JCPS Superintendent. Smith's contract will expire on June 30, 2024.

In other actions by the Jackson County Board of Education, the board members have also selected a new Board Attorney. The board has hired Mr. John Blevins.
