For the last couple of weeks the 2026 Jackson County Fair has brought fun and entertainment to our community. The Fair has become the biggest annual event in the county bringing thousands of people into McKee to enjoy the entertainment, fellowship, arts, crafts, and good food. This year’s theme, “Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue” celebrates the nation’s 250th anniversary as well as acknowledge the deep sense of patriotism and pride demonstrated by our community.
The Fair reaches far beyond the county line bringing in people from multiple states as well as other counties. It is estimated that over 10,000 people will attend the event. The Jackson County Fair Board works diligently all year to secure the very best entertainment and orchestrates a number of events that ensures everyone has something they will enjoy.
The Jackson County Fair Board Officers are Brian Murray (Chairman), Mark Sulfridge (Vice Chairman), Christine Duncan (Treasurer), and Danielle Numikoski (Secretary). Active members include: Hunter Carroll, Marla Fields, Shane Gabbard, Shay Hacker, Starlin Hacker, Alli Harris, Cathy Howell, Nicholas Sizemore, Tim Tankersley, Mandy Turner, Ashley Wagers, Jeremy Wagers, Darian Wilson, Doug Wilson, and Jenny Wilson.
The events have already started the past weekend with a Sporting Clay Tournament and a Soapbox Derby. On Tuesday night (Aug 25th) it was Senior Citizens Night. Thursday (Aug 27th) was Family Fun Night. Saturday (Aug 29th) was the Miss Jackson County Fair Beauty Pageant Contest.
The following week will see the great musical entertainment that the Fair Board has brought in for 2026.
On Thursday (Sept 03) The Acoustic Breakaways and The Isaacs will take the Water Street Stage. On Friday (Sept 4th) My Finest Hour and Eliminator: ZZ Top Tribute Band will rock downtown McKee.
On Saturday (Sept 5th) there is a full line up of events starting with a Cruise In at 9:00 AM. PRTC CEO Keith Gabbard will be the Grand Marshall of the Homecoming Parade at 1:00 PM.
There will be a Karaoke Contest at 2:00 PM. The musical line up for the evening is starts with House of Bowman (5:15 PM).
The annual staple of the Sassafras Cloggers will be a 7:00 PM followed by the headlining act - American Soldier: A Tribute to Toby Keith at 8:00 PM.
The 2027 Jackson County Fair is scheduled to be at the new Fair Grounds located off McCammon Ridge Road. This may be the last year the Fair is conducted in the heart of downtown in the City of McKee.
