Arnold Ray Purvis, 69 passed away Friday at Baptist Health in Lexington on Friday July 18, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio to the late James and Helen Bowman Purvis.
He is survived by his “better half” Betty Isaacs and his children, Bobby James (Jessica) Purvis, Jeremy Ray Purvis (Peggy Jones), Matthew Joseph Purvis (Alisha Cornett) all of Tennessee, Jessica (Jessie Bug) Lee Purvis of Menifee Co. and Melanie Brooke Mudd of Louisville. As well as a brother Kenneth Dwayne Purvis of Leslie Co. His daughter in law Loretta Adams. Ray was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ralph Purvis and Dennis Darrell Purvis and four sisters, Esther Martina Lewis, Jackie Brummett, Diane Purvis, Roberta (Chigger) Rice and Sandra June Purvis. As well as one great grandchild, Julian Blake Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 1 P.M. with Bro. Marshall Abrams officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrison Cemetery. Pallbearers include Glenn Isaacs, Bobby Purvis, Jeremy Purvis, Matthew Purvis, Austin Roberts, Cody Jones and Jessica Purvis.
A visitation will begin on Tuesday July 22 at 11 A.M. at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel in McKee.
