Boone Forest Rally & Jackson County Fair

Posted

Jackson County saw an influx of visitors for this past weekend's Boone Forest Rally race. According to our folks in County Tourism, every Airbnb or rentable room in Jackson County was taken for this event. Backroads of Appalachia Director and Jackson County Resident, Eric Hubbard, put more than a year of work into securing and preparing for this race. The hard work paid off as Jackson County was highlighted on a national stage with this event. Many of our local citizens have grown to love these races and the community is starting to rally around the rally.
We couldn't have this event without the efforts of our County Road Department who prep the roads for the race, Our EM Director Jamie Strong and Assistant Brody Keck making sure everyone is safe and plans are in place in case of an emergency, our first responders and law enforcement who volunteer during the event with the services they specialize in, and the citizens who volunteer to help make the event a success. All in all, I believe the Boone Forest Rally is a local boost for our economy. We hope to see the impact for years to come for our community.
The next big event for the County is the Fair. This is always the biggest event for Jackson County as we see upwards of 10,000 people in a 3 day period in Jackson County. There is something for everyone to enjoy at the Jackson County Fair. The Fair has grown so much that it helped our State Legislatures secure 4 million dollars in State funding for a facility to have the fair and other events. The Fair events start soon, keep an eye on local papers and social media.
Have a blessed week.
