Shane Vickers
Safety and Loss Prevention Director
Shane Vickers is a Jackson County native, where he has lived and worked his entire life.
Growing up, Shane wanted to be a Kentucky State Trooper. Even though Shane didn’t pursue a life in law enforcement, his dream of being a public servant and caring for his
community was still realized.
Vickers started his career at Jackson Energy in 1999 as a groundman and, through his commitment and determination, worked his way up to 1 st Class Line Technician. Today,
Shane is currently Jackson Energy’s Safety and Loss Prevention Director. After years on the pole, in the bucket, and on the ground with the crews, Vickers understands the real risks of being a first responder in the utility industry. In addition, he understands that in his new role – it isn’t just about policies or paperwork—it’s about using that field experience to support the crews, promote a strong safety culture, and make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.
One of his favorite parts of working at Jackson Energy is serving our members and making a real difference in their lives. Shane finds satisfaction in supporting our members and protecting our communities, using his experience and understanding of the job. He knows first-hand how important linemen are in installing and maintaining power lines while keeping homes, businesses, and communities safe. He is inspired by the opportunity to continue serving our members in his new role.
Shane and his wife, Brandy, are approaching 25 years of marriage and are proud parents of two sons, Korey and Kolben. When Shane is not working at Jackson Energy, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Shane isalso very active in his community where he volunteers in school safety programs, little league programs and travel basketball.
