Cora Rader Madden Marcum, age 90, passed away on July 27, 2026.
Born in McKee, Kentucky, Cora lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She found joy in the simple moment, time spent with those she loved, gardening, sharing laughter, cooking for others, offering wisdom and creating a home where everyone felt welcome.
She is survived by her children, Connie Tincher, Phyllis Shelton, Linda Gabbard, Donnie Madden and Randell Madden; her grandchildren, Lindsey Gabbard and Jordan Gabbard; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Damrell, Brayden Dezarn, Brittany Tillery, Mason Dezarn; and great-great grandchildren Jace Damrell & Avery Damrell. She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Jimmy Gabbard and Charles Frazier, along with many dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her warmth and generosity.
Cora was widowed twice, first by Roy Madden in 1991 and later by Dennis Dotson Marcum in 2012. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Jamie Long, Dustin Tillery, and Angie Tillery, as well as her great-grandson Justin Tillery.
Those who knew her will remember her gentle heart, her resilience, her sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery on Saturday, August 1st at 1:00 p.m.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that a life so beautifully lived leaves a lasting imprint on everyone it touched. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
