Darryl Wayne Mathis Sr. was born August 1, 1964 in Clay Co., Kentucky to the late Dennis and Sue (Rogers) Mathis and departed this life on Monday August 3, 2026 at the St. Jospeh Hospital in Lexington. He was 60 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Carol and their children Darryl Wayne Mathis II of Breckinridge Co., and Kayla Mathis of Annville. His grandchildren, Darryl Wayne Mathis III, Sara Mathis, Ella Witt, Abigail Smith, Layla Mathis and Anna Faye Mathis. His brothers Edward Lee Mathis, Sam Mathis, Chester Mathis, and Fred Mathis of Manchester.
In addition to his parents Darryl was preceded in death by his sister Mattie Liz Carr.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
