MANCHESTER, Ky. (August 20, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that a section of KY 89 in Jackson County will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Wednesday, Aug. 26, for cross drain replacement work.

The closure will be in place between the intersection with L. Russell Road at mile point 28.482 and the intersection with Peach Tree Road at mile point 31.75.

KY 89 will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day. The roadway will only be closed during daytime working hours.

The closure is necessary to allow crews to replace a cross drain.

Motorists should plan accordingly, allow additional travel time and use caution when traveling near the work zone. Drivers are encouraged to be alert for signage, construction personnel and equipment.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
