Dizzy Dove Adopts Catherine "Cathy" Gabbard as their Local Artist

The Dizzy Dove has “adopted” Catherine “Cathy” Gabbard as their local artist. When the Dizzy Dove heard her story and testimony for God, it was a natural fit to have Cathy as their artist. The Dizzy Dove is a boutique clothing and accessories store located in Annville, but above all else the cornerstone of this shop is their faith.

Cathy has lived in and loved Jackson County her whole life. Cathy has had an extremely chaotic journey filled with points of despair and loss, bad choices and deep regrets, however, the journey has led her to her Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.

Cathy has recently celebrated 3 years of recovery and gives all the glory to God for this milestone. A chaotic journey but with an arrival to hope is exactly how you can describe her creative process, she specializes in abstract acrylic paintings as a part of her healing and at times part of her worship. She tries to capture what she is feeling; it's not about painting a specific thing, but rather capturing her emotions at the time.

Surprisingly when the pieces are finished, after all the different colors, directions, and paint swirls ... you do see things. In the print that is displayed at The Dizzy Dove you can find an angel, a hand calming rough waters and so much
more. If you get a chance to stop in this shop in Annville that is filled with “modest glam” and friendly staff, be sure to look closely at Cathy’s artwork to see what you might find and read her testimony. Hopefully you will leave inspired and uplifted by your local artist Catherine “Cathy” Gabbard.

With no art gallery in the county, the Jackson County Creatives have begun asking local businesses if they would like to “adopt” a local artist. The businesses are displaying at least one art piece from one of our county’s artists, not trying to sell said art piece and not responsible if something happens to the artwork, only displaying. This allows Jackson County artists to have a place with foot traffic to showcase their work and shows the community that this business cares about our local talent.
