Donald Tincher, age 90, of Mckee, KY went home to be with the Lord on October 14, 2025. He passed peacefully at home on his farm surrounded by his family and friends. A proud veteran and a man of quiet strength, Donald lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. He was known for his steady hands, kind heart, and the way he always made time for the people he loved. Whether sharing stories on the back porch or lending a helping hand, Donald lived simply-but fully-and left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
Donald served his country with honor and his family with devotion. He was the kind of man whose word meant something, who prayed with purpose, and who loved without condition. Though we mourn his passing, we give thanks for his long and faithful life, and we rest in the promise that he is now at peace in his heavenly home.
Donald was a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Korea War from 1957-1959 and A loyal member of the New Zion Lodge for 43 years.
Donald is survived by four children, Donnie Tincher, David Tincher, Scott (Becky) Tillery, Donya (William) Johnson. He is also survived by following siblings, Mina Lou Tincher of Georgia, Shirley Camp of Lexington, John Tincher and wife Kaye, Charlene Mays and husband Daniel, Richard Tincher and wife Vicki, Russell Tincher and wife Rebecca, Walter Tincher and wife Angie, William Tincher, Clara and Andre Wines and Robert Tincher all of Indiana and by his step mother, Betty Tincher also of Indiana. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Jermey Don Tincher, Josh Tillery, Leslie (Marc Anthony) Nolden, Brandi (Victor) Caldwell, Coleman Tillery, Savannah Tillery, Gracelyn Johnson, and Leighton Johnson. By four great grandchildren, Gage, Cheveyo, Iris, and Trey.
In addition to his parents, George Robert and Lucy (Jones) Tincher. Donald was also preceded in death by the following siblings, Hurrel Eldon Tincher, George L. Tincher, Benjamin Tincher, Della Snodgrass, Cleo Tincher, Dorthy Tincher. A son, Danny Ray Tincher, and grandson Frankie Ray Tincher.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Bernard Thomas and Keith Hensley officiating. Pallbearers: William Johnson, Scott Tillery, John Carroll, Randy Vickers, Carlos Gabbard, and Michael Sparks. Honorary pallbearers: Joe McKinney, Danny Judd, Steve Moore, Ronnie Vaughn and Carroll Deforest. Burial to follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Donald Smith, son of Eva (Price) Smith and Sylvan Smith, was born September 18, 1934, in Letterbox, Kentucky. He attended Letterbox School.
Donald was a member of Eichelburger Pentecostal Church of God where he served as a deacon and superintendent and played his guitar in service to the Lord.
Donald was married to Agnes Turner Smith (already gone to be with the Lord) and they had two daughters: Brenda Kay Harrison (Katie), deceased, and Donna Lynn Roberts of Brodhead, Kentucky. He is survived by many loved ones: sisters Ruby Carpenter and Irene Venable of Jackson County, Patty Smith of Ohio, and Randall Hundle, also of Jackson County, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
