Fall is in full swing, and our region is transforming into a vibrant tapestry of colors as the peak fall foliage season approaches. The hills and valleys are displaying an array of hues, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle. This is a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the beauty of nature's seasonal display. Jackson County has over 50,000 acres of National Forest with a unique diversity of many species of trees. I encourage everyone to go for a drive during the next few weeks to enjoy one of our great natural treasures. Tourism seems to see a boost during peak foliage times with many visitors driving and exploring rural areas in order to catch glimpses of the natural wonder of Autumn in Kentucky.
With the increase in tourism and visitors exploring rural areas during peak fall foliage, it's essential to acknowledge the potential rise in traffic and, consequently, the heightened risk of accidents. While we encourage everyone to enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of our region, we also want to ensure the safety of all drivers and pedestrians. Please be extra cautious, adhere to speed limits, and be aware of your surroundings. Let's work together to make this fall season a memorable one for everyone, filled with scenic beauty and safe travels.
Have a blessed week
