Former Laurel County Paramedic Sentenced to More Than 13 Years for Dark Web Child Pornography Distribution

LONDON, Ky. — A Laurel County paramedic who admitted to trafficking child sexual abuse material on the dark web has been sentenced to 162 months in federal prison following an FBI investigation.

Bradley Callahan, 38, of London, a former paramedic with Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge Claria Horn Boom after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography.

According to federal court records, the investigation began when the FBI identified an IP address linked to posts on a dark web child pornography marketplace in September 2023. Agents determined that Callahan had made at least 29 posts on the website, many of which contained links to explicit child sexual abuse videos.

FBI agents approached Callahan at his workplace earlier this year, where he agreed to accompany them to the London FBI office for an interview. During questioning, Callahan admitted to accessing multiple dark web websites hosting child pornography and to trading images and videos with users on both the dark web and Instagram.

A subsequent search of his home uncovered a laptop containing numerous child pornography files, consistent with his admissions.

Callahan’s plea agreement confirmed his involvement in distributing the material online, including posts directing users to several explicit videos.

Under federal law, Callahan must serve 85 percent of his sentence. After completing his prison term, he will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 10 years.

The case was investigated by the FBI Louisville Field Office, and the prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship.

Acting United States Attorney Paul McCaffrey and Olivia Olson, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Louisville, jointly announced the sentence.
