The Jackson County High School Varsity Generals return to action this Friday, refreshed after a crucial mid-season bye week. Following their recent 22-8 home loss to Holmes, which brought their overall record to 2-4, the team has taken time to rest and address key areas for improvement before embarking on the final stretch of the season.
The bye week provided a much-needed period to recover and regroup. Head Coach Byrd stressed the importance of the time off, saying, “The bye came at an ideal time. Our numbers are up, and our depth is improving, which allows us to be strategic with our rest and preparation. We’ve focused on re-establishing our core strengths and preparing for a tough district schedule.”
Looking ahead, the Generals travel to West Carter for a pivotal district opener this Friday, October 9th, at 7:30 PM. The game against the Comets will be a significant test as JCHS aims to correct its trajectory and start district play with a crucial victory. Fans are encouraged to travel and support the team on this important road test.
