Posted

Geraldine Isaacs was born August 8, 1938 in Jackson County, Kentucky and departed this life Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Berea Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berea, Ky. being 85 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Delbert and Myrtle (Murphy) Rose. Geraldine is survived by a brother, Carl Rose of McKee and by a sister Mildred Moore, also of Mckee. In addition to her parents Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Wilmie Isaacs. She was also preceded in death by three brothers; Virgil Rose, Lloyd Rose and Vester Rose and by six sisters; Margaret Spivey, Alpha Turner, Mabel Turner, Ileen Harrison, Annette Turner and her twin sister, Evelyn Marcum. Geraldine was a member of the Kirby Knob Baptist Church. Geraldine did not have any children of her own, but she was blessed with many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. Two she often referred to as “hers”, Elizabeth Flannery and Delbert Lynn Harrison. Geraldin’s home was always open and there was nothing that she enjoyed more than her family visiting. Geraldine was spunky, funny and demanded attention. She loved country music, telling jokes (sometimes inappropriate ones) and she was tough. She was diagnosed with a spinal tumor in 1977 and the doctors only gave her 3-5 years to live but God blessed her with 46 more years. Little Geraldiine will be missed by her family but what a comforting thought it is to know that when Geraldine departed this life on Wednesday morning that her pain and suffering ended and she’s now resting in the arms of Jesus.
