Harold D. Godfrey age 88 of McKee passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in London. He was born September 19, 1936, to the late the Robert “Pat” and Oleta (Wear) Godfrey in Cohutta, Georgia.
Harold is survived by his children, Kathy Godfrey of Cincinnati, OH, Cindy Simpson of Goshen, OH, Jerrie Lynn (Chris) Utz of McKee, KY Steve (Missy) Woods of Cincinnati, OH and Gordon (Becky) Carroll of Littleton, Colorado. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren, Angie (Scott) Hall, Angela Apking (Shaun Johnson), Amber Simpson, Jake Utz, Becky (Brandon) Collier, Stephanie Starrett, Laura (Steven) Synder, Athena (Matt) Leo, Cassandra (Chris) Ortler, Natalie (Matt) Hall and Anthony (Denea) Carroll, as well as twenty-three great grandchildren and expecting one more. Also, by a brother John (Dean) Godfrey and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Vida Mae (Ball), a son Harold Douglas Godfrey Jr., by a stepson, Larry Carroll and by the following siblings, Bob Godrey, Gene Godfrey, Patricia Caudill and Jane Wade.
Funeral services for Harold were held at 1 P.M. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee with Bro. Brian Gabbard, officiating. Burial followed at Ball-McQueen Cemetery in Laurel County. A visitation began at 11 A.M. on Friday at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers include Chris Utz, Scott Hall, Shaun Johnson, Steve Woods, Chris Ball and Kyle Johnson.
