Jackson County Emergency Management Provides Info on Flood Clean Up

Jamie Strong, Jackson County EM/CSEPP Director reported the following information regarding available assistance cleaning up flood damage that occurred with the recent devastating flood event.

Roll off Dumpsters:
Roll off Dumpsters are placed in the following locations:
The roll off locations are monitored and debris will be checked while unloading.
1. 52 Birch Lick School Rd.
2. Expect to have a unit on Clover Bottom Creek Rd on Monday
3. 1348 Hwy. 421N Comp Care
4. 100 Main St. near Judicials Center at Mr. Bills
5. 40 Water St. end Water St. behind Jackson County Public Library McKee KY
6. 3995 Hwy. 421N at Waneta Church of God

ACCEPTED MATERIALS:
*Flood-damaged household contents
*Furniture
*Carpet and Padding
*Drywall
*Lumber
*Household debris resulting from flooding

UPDATED INFORMATION ON KYEM ROADSIDE DEBRIS PICKUP
KYEM is providing contractors to pick up flood related debris from roadside locations.

We are looking to begin this process Tuesday morning 7-7-26 at the earliest and Wednesday 7-8-26 at the latest.
Roadside debris pickup may start on Tuesday 7-7-26. Please read the following tips to speed up the process.

Separate the types of debris into the following piles:

Vegetative Debris-Leaves, limbs, weeds
Construction and demolition debris- Lumber, drywall, insulation
White Goods- Refrigerators, washers, dryers, microwaves
Guidelines for Pickup
Debris must be within 15 feet of roadway
Try not to put debris under powerlines or phonelines
Try not to put debris near utility poles
Pictures attached of trucks that will be used to pick up debris.
Trucks will be exiting and entering Hwy. 30 W near the 3443 junction. Please use caution in that area.
Haul Site may affect traffic as large trucks will be entering and exiting Hwy. 30 W

Cleaning Supply Pickup
On Tuesday 7-7-26 at the PRTC - Peoples Rural Telephone Cooperative Warehouse on McCammon Ridge Rd. Lowes will be handing out supplies from 11:00am to 2:00 pm.
Christian Appalachian Project workers are in the area providing help to those affected.
