Jackson County JROTC Honors Veterans With Districtwide Ceremonies and Community Support
The Jackson County High School JROTC Battalion proudly carried out several Veteran’s Day programs across the school district, ensuring that local veterans were honored despite recent school cancellations. Through dedication and teamwork, cadets successfully hosted ceremonies at Sand Gap Elementary, Tyner Elementary, McKee Elementary, and provided Color Guard support, along with two major programs at Jackson County High School and Jackson County Middle School.
A highlight of the high school ceremony was guest speaker Command Sergeant Major Naarah Stallard from the 198th Military Police Battalion. CSM Stallard delivered an inspiring message to the student body, sharing her personal experiences and reflecting on the meaning of service, sacrifice, and community. Her story resonated strongly with students and staff, adding depth and significance to the event.
In addition to the ceremonies, the JROTC partnered with Mrs. Young’s Culinary class to host a special Bar-B-Que meal for local veterans. Cadets and culinary students collaborated to prepare, serve, and welcome veterans to a warm and appreciative meal in their honor.
The Jackson County JROTC extends a heartfelt thank you to every veteran who attended the events throughout the district. Their commitment and sacrifice continue to inspire our students and staff. A special thanks is also extended to the Jackson County School Board for providing the funding that made the meal and ceremonies possible. Their support ensured that this year’s Veteran’s Day celebrations were meaningful, memorable, and truly special.
The Generals Battalion remains committed to honoring our veterans, serving our community, and upholding the values of leadership and service that define Jackson County JROTC.
