JCHS “General” Information (Week of Oct 27 - 31, 2025)

Posted

JCHS was excited to welcome back Remix and Jiggy, who brought high energy and encouragement to our students! The message focused on how every choice matters and how each of us can create a positive impact through the decisions we make every day. Thank you to our Youth Services Center coordinator, Julia McCowan for sponsoring this fun-filled program for our students.

The Vocational School nursing classes, along with PRI Charity Rose, took a group of nursing students to the hot expo last week in Corbin. On October 24, 2025, 26 students from health sciences classes attended the Hot Expo event in Corbin. This event, sponsored by Southern KY AHEC, allows students to meet with healthcare professionals, college instructors, and learn about financial options in the healthcare industry.

“Boo Fest on the Hill” will be held on Thursday, October 30th and begins at 5pm.

This year FBLA is excited to collaborate with the Jackson County Public Library to host Boo Fest on the Hill. This is our second annual event and look forward to hosting our community this year in this collaborative effort. Boo Fest on the Hill is a trunk or treat event where JCHS students/staff and community members decorate their cars, dress in costumes, and hand out candy to the community. Community members will park in the back of the school below the softball and baseball fields. If you have any questions contact Ashley Wagers at the Jackson County Public Library OR Sarah McQueen at sarah.mcqueen@jackson.kyschools.us.
We look forward to hosting you this year!

The JCHS Cheerleading Squad will be competing in the KHSAA Region 7 Competition this coming Saturday, November 01, 2025, at Clay County High School. Our team will compete at 10:24 AM. Please come out and support these girls!
