Coach Stewart and the JCHS Generals continued a special season Friday night, knocking off Pineville 67-56 to reach the 20-win mark — just the fourth time since 1998 the Generals have accomplished that feat.
Joona Holm led the way with 22 points, setting the tone offensively. Brennon Combs added 15 points, while Wyatt Gray chipped in 13 as the Generals balanced scoring and controlled key moments of the game.
After the win, Jackson County head coach Parker Stewart credited the work his team has put in since day one.
“I’m extremely proud of these boys,” he said. “I know the whole draw/seed conversation has taken attention away from other things, but these boys have worked extremely hard since May when I first took this job and have improved so much. They show up every day, work hard and never complain. I can’t explain how proud I am of them and they deserve all the credit because they put the work in.
“We are going to continue to build the program our way, and I’m glad this group set the foundation and laid the ground work for years to come,” Stewart added. “We have one more regular season game, and then we prepare for the district tournament.”
On Saturday, February 14, 2026 the Generals defeated Casey County by a score of 61-35. Brennon Combs led the Generals scoring 16 points. He was followed by Tansen Truett (10 pts), and Joon Holm (8 pts).
The game before that saw the Generals lose to 49th District rival Clay County by a final score of 49-71. Tyler Sandlin led the Generals with 12 points followed by Joona Holm (8 pts), Tansen Truett (7 pts) and Braxton Coyle (6 pts.)
The Generals have one final game remaining in the regular season. They will travel to Buckhorn on Friday, February 20, 2026 to face the Buckhorn Wildcats.
