JCHS JROTC Holds Change of Command and Change of Responsibility Ceremony

Posted

The Jackson County High School JROTC recently conducted its annual Change of Command and Change of Responsibility Ceremony, recognizing the accomplishments and leadership of the cadets who served throughout the school year while officially transferring authority to the next generation of student leaders.

The Change of Command Ceremony symbolizes the formal transfer of authority, responsibility, and accountability from one cadet commander to another. During the ceremony, C/LTC Joshua Holstein officially relinquished command of the battalion after a successful year of leadership and service to the program. Cadet Holstein demonstrated outstanding professionalism, dedication, and commitment while leading the battalion through numerous events, competitions, and community service activities.

The JROTC staff and cadets would like to sincerely thank C/LTC Holstein for his leadership this year and wish him the very best as he attends Advanced Individual Training this summer while continuing his military journey.

Assuming command of the battalion is C/LTC Jesse Campos. Cadet Campos has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities, discipline, and dedication to the program. The battalion looks forward to his leadership and vision during the upcoming school year.

The ceremony also included the Change of Responsibility, a military tradition symbolizing the transfer of duties between the senior enlisted advisors. The senior enlisted advisor serves as the principal advisor to the commander and plays a critical role in maintaining discipline, mentorship, and standards within the organization.

Outgoing senior enlisted advisor C/CSM Jesse Campos was recognized and thanked for his leadership, guidance, and unwavering commitment to the cadets throughout the year. His efforts helped strengthen the battalion and mentor younger cadets into future leaders.

The responsibility was then officially passed to incoming senior enlisted advisor C/CSM Aiden Thompson. Cadet Thompson now assumes the important responsibility of advising the commander while helping uphold the traditions, standards, and professionalism of the battalion.

The ceremony concluded with recognition for several cadets and supporters who helped make the event successful. A special thank you was extended to photographer C/PVT Caleb Moore for capturing memorable moments throughout the ceremony and school year.

The Jackson County High School JROTC program continues to develop leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and character in young men and women while preparing cadets for future success in school, the military, and their communities.
