This group has worked incredibly hard all season long,” the coach said. “Winning back-to-back conference championships is no small feat, but these girls aren’t satisfied yet. They have their eyes on that state trophy!”

The Jackson County 7th & 8th Grade Lady Generals are once again on top of the mountain, claiming the All A Conference Championship for the second year in a row. In a season marked by grit, teamwork, and dominant play, the Lady Generals also finished undefeated in regular season conference play, cementing their place as one of the region’s most formidable middle school teams.

With the conference title secured, the 7th grade Lady Generals now set their sights on an even bigger prize — a state championship. This weekend, the team will travel to compete in the HyperHer Hoops Kentucky Middle School State Championship, where they’ll face the best teams from across the Commonwealth.

Last season, the Lady Generals made an impressive run to the Final Four, falling just short of the championship game. This year, however, they are on a mission. Fueled by experience, talent, and unfinished business, the team is “out for revenge” and determined to bring home the title.

Head Coach Kelvin Bingham praised the team’s focus and determination. “This group has worked incredibly hard all season long,” the coach said. “Winning back-to-back conference championships is no small feat, but these girls aren’t satisfied yet. They have their eyes on that state trophy.”

The community is encouraged to cheer on the Lady Generals as they represent Jackson County on the state stage at Sportscenter in Lexington, KY. The girls take on Johnson Central at 7:00PM and Meece Middle at 8:40 PM on Friday night. Bracket play will commence on Saturday, with a champion being crowned Saturday evening. Good Luck, girls!
