Laura Elizabeth (Gafford) Metcalf was born November 19, 1954, in Guadalajara, Mexico and departed this life Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her residence in Tyner at the age of 71. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Alphonso Gafford and Irene Cruz Gafford.
Laura is survived by her loving husband, Harlan Cheyenne Metcalf and by her children, Gina (Scott) Elliott, Roxanne (Dean) Maiden, Glenn (Katherine) Metcalf and Michael Osborne. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters, Patricia Sanchez, Flavio Sanchez, Olga Gafford, Arturo Gafford and Alberto Gafford and by her mother-in-law Loretta Metcalf. Laura was blessed by twelve grandchildren, Christopher Begley, Kennedy LaPalme, Lauren Grey, Leah Metcalf, Meredith Maiden, Hannah Metcalf, Trenton Maiden, Garrison Maiden, Natalie Wells, Julia Osborne, Leslie Osborne and Angelino Osborne.
In addition to her parents, Laura was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Ramona Hernandez Cruz and Jose Cruz; by her father-in-law, Halan Glenn Metcalf; by two children, Levi & Wesley Nichols, and by siblings, Julio Sanchez, Celia Gafford and Alejandro Gafford.
Laura loved with a passion her family, her friends, her church, this country and most of all her Savior Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Mt. Olivet Church of Christ with Bro. Aaron Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
