Alvin Matthew Callahan, Sr., 57, of McKee, KY was scheduled to appear in Circuit Court at the beginning of December for arraignment in Case #25-CR-00086.

Callahan appeared before Judge Allen B. Roberts in District Court on September 15, 2025, for a preliminary hearing in Case #25-F-00099.

Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs reported to the public that on Friday, September 5, 2025, at approximately 8:48 p.m., Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Chris Baldwin arrested Alvin Callahan, Sr., of McKee, KY.

The arrest occurred at the Jackson Valley Apartments within the city limits of McKee after Deputies were dispatched to the area on a report of sexual abuse of minors.

After arriving on scene, Deputy Baldwin conducted several interviews, which led to information being advised to him that Callahan had attempted to pull down a juvenile’s pants after inappropriately touching said juvenile and inappropriately touching himself.

Alvin Callahan was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of: Sexual Abuse 1st Degree and Indecent Exposure 1st Degree.

The identities of the juveniles will not be released.

Deputy Baldwin was assisted at the scene by Deputy Andrew Brewer, Special Deputy Brandon Evans, Special Deputy Shawn Madden, and Court Security Officer Scott McCreary.

During the preliminary hearing, Judge Roberts ruled that probable cause had been found for the charge of sexual abuse, 1st degree. The case was subsequently bound over to a Grand Jury for consideration and possible indictment. The Grand Jury returned Indictment #25-CR-00086 affirming the charges presented to the lower court.

Callahan remains in custody at the Jackson County Detention Center under a $25,000 cash bond while awaiting his next court appearance.

As in all cases at this stage of adjudication, the charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until provided due process and determined to be guilty by the court.
